This recording is taken from the reception of a standard radio when the movement of the antenna is such that for the first 10 seconds of the recording the antenna receives line of sight reception. The following 10 seconds of the recording, are taken when the antenna has been adjusted to receive Multi-path distortion. The cycle is repeated for a further 20 seconds of recording. This simulates the performance any Standard FM radio as it travels in and out of an area that is subject to Multi-path Distortion conditions.

This second audio recording is under the same conditions as previously described (i.e. 10 seconds of clear reception followed by 10 seconds of multi-path reception repeated) with the reception taken from the Ampsys FMDA demodulator. This simulates the performance of the new AMPSYS FM radio as it travels in and out of an area that is subject to Multi-path Distortion conditions.

FM Simulator with Multipath


This labview program will illustrate how the new Ampsys radio works. You do not have to have labView installed for this program to work.


Download and install the LabView 7 Run-Time library first.


Now download this RAR file and un-rar it somewhere convenient (could be your desktop).

Click on scam-fm1.exe and the simulator will run. You should see a page appear similar to the one below.



Now click on on/off to see the spikes attenuated! You can vary the frequency etc
